Why participate

Be discoverable at the moment a shopper is ready to buy.

Capture local demand

Reach people searching for a specific item nearby, even if they do not know which store carries it.

Keep control

Choose the authorized stores, products, source, and update method. Pause or withdraw when needed.

See unmet searches

Approved merchants can review aggregated product requests for the islands they serve.

Getting started

From conversation to trustworthy inventory.

Start with a conversation. We will help you choose a manageable product set and a practical way to keep it current.

  1. 01

    Confirm fit

We learn how your store tracks inventory, who can authorize publication, and which Maui locations and product categories make sense for the pilot.

  2. 02

    Authorize the data

You choose the products and locations to share. We get written permission from the right person before publishing anything.

  3. 03

    Load a useful set

Start with 50–100 useful products, entered manually or uploaded in a spreadsheet (CSV). We agree on an update routine that your team can maintain.

  4. 04

    Learn with Maui shoppers

Test the listings with Maui shoppers, review product requests, and correct any issues before expanding your catalog.

Good pilot fit

You do not need perfect systems. You do need a workable update habit.

We will keep the first product set focused enough to maintain and broad enough to answer real shopper searches.

Your data stays yours

Permission is specific, visible, and reversible.

Before

Written scope

Confirm the authorized business, stores, product data, source, representative, and effective date.

During

Clear product information

Listings show the merchant-supplied source and last verification time; imports are validated before publishing.

Any time

Correction or withdrawal

Update, pause, narrow, or revoke the permission. Stale affirmative signals automatically become “Call to confirm.”

Merchant questions

Straight answers before you join.

Can a hardware store or a larger retail brand participate?

Yes. We are looking for stores carrying useful everyday products, including tools, hardware, and household supplies. If a regional or corporate team controls your product data, we will coordinate with the person who can approve sharing it. A listing does not require changing how you sell.

Do shoppers buy through Find It Hawaiʻi?

No. Shoppers compare participating listings, then contact or visit your store, or follow your website link. You keep the sale and the customer relationship.

What does the pilot cost?

Version 1 is free for merchants and shoppers. There is no billing setup, commission, or long-term commitment in the pilot.

Do I need a point-of-sale integration?

No. Manual entry and a standard CSV are the first supported paths. Any future system connection would require separate technical review and explicit authorization.

Will Find It Hawaiʻi scrape our website?

No. Product results use only data supplied or explicitly authorized by participating merchants. We do not create fictional inventory or infer a partnership from public information.

What happens when inventory gets old?

An affirmative stock update older than 72 hours changes to “Call to confirm.” Shoppers can also report a listing that appears inaccurate.

Can we stop participating?

Yes. A merchant can pause publishing, correct records, narrow the authorized scope, or revoke permission. We keep an operational record of important changes.

When will shoppers see us?

Your listings appear after your business is approved, written data permission is confirmed, and the product information is checked. We agree on the starting product set and update routine before publishing.
